THE "GALLERIA DEGLI UFFIZI"

The Uffizi were the offices of the well-known family of the Medici (Uffizi = offices). Since the beginning, however, the Medici Family dedicated some rooms at the works of their art collections. Today the Uffizi contains works of Italian and foreign artists from 13° to 18° century, among whose Cimabue, Giotto, Masaccio, Beato Angelico, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Piero della Francesca, Raffaello, Caravaggio, as well as Rubens, Rembrandt, Dürer, Goya and many others.

The "Corridoio Vasariano", that connects the "Galleria degli Uffizi" with "Forte Belvedere", accommodates a rich collectionof artist's portraits of the present and of the past . Built by Vasari in 1565, it passes over the Old Bridge, (that it is in fact the oldest bridge of the town), with its several jewelry shops.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF "IL BARGELLO"

"SAN MARCO" MUSEUM

Hotel Florence - San Marco Museum The SAN MARK museum introduced in the old cloister domenicano was restored and broadened until the present shape, by architect Michelozzo (1396-1472) on assignment of Cosimo de' Medici, "il Vecchio". This building was theatre of the ardent artistic activity of the Beato Angelico (1400-1450) and, later on , of Gerolamo Savonarola's one.
Fra' Angelico, monk domenicano, and then Priore of the cloister, designed in perfect tune with the architecture of the structure, the chiostro and the cells of the first floor. The museum contains also works of Fra' Angelica in the shape of you fresco, panels. The museum contains also a fresco of the Ghirlandaio representing "L'ultima cena" (end of 15 century) and, in the bookstore a rare collection of manuscripts.

"SPEDALE DEGLI INNOCENTI" Gallery

Hotel Florence - Spedale degli Innocenti Gallery The Gallery OF THE "Spedale Degli Innocenti" is in one of the most well-known and attractive architectural complex of the 15 century in Florence, ordered and financed by the Arte della Lana on drawing of Filippo Brunelleschi. The Spedale helped to grow the neglected children. In the building of the refectory, in the "chiostro", in the dormitories, in the rooms of the nurses and in the portico, Brunelleschi created a perfect example of harmonious and rational architecture.
Subsequently it was decorated with frescos ordered by the Medici' Family. After the flood of 1966, the complex was entirely restored and it returned in all its appearance. The Gallery, above the "chiostro" and the children rooms above the portico, contain splendid pieces of incalculable artistic value.

PALAZZO VECCHIO: "Quartieri monumentali"

MUSEO BARDINI

Hotel Florence - Bardini museum The Museum was given to the Town of Florence from Stefano Bardini (1836-1922), fine expert of art and capable international merchant. Santo Spirito Museum - "Cenacolo del Convento"

"FIRENZE COM'ERA" - Museo Storico Topografico

Hotel Florence - Museo Storico Topografico Across paintings, prints and plastics, the Museum offers a rich visual documentation of the development of Florence from the Renaissance to the end of the past century. Next to the large reproduction of the well-known Pianta della Catena of 1470, you find the topographical Plant of Stefano Bonsignori (1594), the first one recognized from the Science. CAPPELLA BRANCACCI

MUSEO "STIBBERT"

Hotel Florence - Stibbert Museum The Museum created from Frederick Stibbert (1838-1906, inside the villa of Montughi , constitutes a rare nineteenth-century example of museum: the preparation of every room was studied to evoke the atmosphere of the period and of the places of origin of the works, and the reorganization of the villa had entrusted at the greater architects and decorators of the time that realized a house-museum of large suggestion.

Stibbert was man of large culture and capable financier, that exercised a decisive role on the antiquarian market European. The collections reflect its interest for the story and the different customs of peoples and include arms, frameworks, customs, objects of furnish and of applied art, tapestry and painting from the Sixteenth century to the nineteenth century. Museo "MARINO MARINI"

Hotel Florence - Marini Museum The Museum, prepared in the evocative atmosphere of the ex-church of San Pancrazio, accommodates a large number of works that the sculpture Marino Marini (1901-1980) gave to the City of Florence.
