The GALLERIA DEGLI UFFIZI is one of the most beautiful museum in the world. The Uffizi were the offices of the well-known family of the Medici (Uffizi = offices). Since the beginning, however, the Medici Family dedicated some rooms at the works of their art collections. Today the Uffizi contains works of Italian and foreign artists from 13° to 18° century, among whose Cimabue, Giotto, Masaccio, Beato Angelico, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Piero della Francesca, Raffaello, Caravaggio, as well as Rubens, Rembrandt, Dürer, Goya and many others. The "Corridoio Vasariano", that connects the "Galleria degli Uffizi" with "Forte Belvedere", accommodates a rich collectionof artist's portraits of the present and of the past . Built by Vasari in 1565, it passes over the Old Bridge, (that it is in fact the oldest bridge of the town), with its several jewelry shops.
